C0411 1887 Queen Victoria British Lucky Silver Sixpence Withdrawn Type Coin - Extremely Fine - SPINK 3928
The 1887 'shield reverse' UK sixpence reverse shows the UK coat of arms with the royal crown above, surrounded by a garter with the motto 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', and the date below. The shield quadrants show three lions representing England, one lion representing Scotland, and a harp representing Ireland.
The obverse features the robed jubilee bust of Queen Victoria, facing left, adorned with jewellery, veil, and a crown. The legend reads: 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITT:REGINA F:D:'
The shield reverse sixpence was quickly withdrawn, as design and size was too similar to the half sovereign.
This coin is graded: Extremely Fine. Please see images for details. The coin you are purchasing will be the one displayed in the images above.
