The 1859 United Kingdom florin reverse shows four crowned shields in cruciform, with a trefoil in the centre, and floral emblems in diagonals. Three lions and the roses represent England, a single lion and the thistle represent Scotland, and the harp and shamrock represent Ireland. The surrounding legend reads: 'ONE FLORIN' above, and 'ONE TENTH OF A POUND' below.

The obverse features the crowned head of young Victoria facing left, with hair in a plait around her ear. The legend reads: 'Victoria d:g:brit:' to the left, and 'reg:f:d:', then the date in Roman numerals to the right.
