The 1889 United Kingdom double florin reverse shows four crowned shields in cruciform, each with coats of arms representing UK union members: (England, Scotland, Ireland). Four sceptres are in the diagonals. The legend reads 'BRITT: REG:' to the left, date at the top, then 'FID: DEF:' to the right.
The obverse features the robed jubilee bust of Queen Victoria, facing left, adorned with jewellery, veil, and a small crown. The legend reads 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA'.
